General Information

The UNC Sport Clubs Program includes over 50 active clubs. The clubs range from being recreational and instructional to highly competitive, yet all are united by the common goal of creating an environment that fosters student development and leadership through sport. Clubs typically practice two to three times per week, and often travel to other universities to compete and further enhance their skills. The Sport Clubs program provides a challenging avenue for almost 10% of the student body at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Getting Involved

To join a sport club, you should contact the student representative for the club that interests you. Contact information for individual clubs may be found by clicking on the Sport Clubs link.
The following events are also available to help both new and returning students decide if they want to join a sport club:

  • Fall Fest: August 17, 9pm on Hooker Fields
  • Sport Clubs Membership Drive in the PIT: Aug 20 (outdoor sports)/
Aug 21 (indoor sports) from 10am-2pm

The Sport Clubs Membership Drives are open to all students interested in learning about a sport club for 2008-2009. Students may stop by to meet club members, sign up for more information, and ask questions about a particular sport club. Our clubs are
student-run organizations that offer recreational opportunities in a competitive and/or instructional setting.
  • Sport Clubs Membership Drive (ALL CLUBS): Tues., August 26 from 4-6pm in the Rams Head plaza area (against east wall closest to Kenan Stadium)
